Ava is an artist from South Africa. She has a degree in Contemporary Media Practice from the University of Westminster, London. Her paintings are inspired by specific cultural dynamics that she has experienced during her life emergrating and gender politics.
The subject of her paintings are usually of 'the sexless', a group of characters that play out various roles in human relationships like puppets without any defining gender.
Following two of her exhibitions in London, a joint exhibition will take place in HIroshima city, Japan.
The event will commence on the 19 of May, 13:00-17:00, at the " Art cultural place" on the 9th floor of Pacela, next to the Sogo bus centre.
The entrance fee is 1500 yen and all proceeds go to the "brighter than tomorrow" charity. The Brighter than tomorrow chairty is run by Extelle Herbert and supports the Funakoshi fishing village in the Miyagi Prefecture that suffered from the March 11th disaster.
